Dear Neuroscientists,

On behalf of the Congress Organizing Committee, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 9th National Neuroscience Congress which will be held at Yeditepe University, Istanbul, Turkey, on 13-17 April 2010. The congress is organised by The Neuroscience Society of Turkey (TÜBAS) and Yeditepe University.

The neuroscience congress is a multidisciplinary platform involving basic and clinical disciplines, and is committed to see promotion of neuroscience in Turkey. This congress will include workshops, planery lectures, conferences, symposiums and poster sessions on a variety of topics in neuroscience.

In addition to an intensive scientific program, the participants will also enjoy a social program and have the opportunity to visit beautiful Bosphorus and other cultural and historical attractions in Istanbul. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Istanbul and Yeditepe University and making this congress a special and successful scientific event.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Date:  13-17 April 2010.

Venue: Yeditepe University, Kayışdağı Campus, Rectorate Building, Istanbul. The campus is located on the Asian side of Istanbul.
Language: Presentations will be in Turkish or English. Simultaneous translation will be provided.

Program at a glance:  Workshops and the opening ceremony will be held on the first day. Scientific program will be run on 14, 15 and 16th of April, from 09.00 to 18.30. Social program will include an opening reception on Tuesday (13th April) at 19.30, and a Gala Dinner on Thursday (15th April) at 20.00. On the last day of the congress (17th April, Saturday), there will be a city tour and participants will enjoy historic and touristic Istanbul.

Abstracts:  An abstract should be provided for each presentation. It should be about 300 words including the title, authors and addresses. They should be prepared in “Verdana” and font size of 10. Five keywords should be provided.  All submitted abstracts (except those by the invited speakers) will be evaluated by the scientific committee, and the authors will be notified. All accepted abstracts will be published in Turkish Journal of Neurology as Supplement.

Deadline & Submission:  Deadline for submission of abstracts is 1st March 2010. Please submit your abstract through the 'Abstract Agent' section on the web site homepage.

Poster presentations: Abstracts accepted as poster presentation will be put on boards throughout the congress. Posters should be prepared in a size of 70 cm (wide) x 100 cm (height). Velcro and other material necessary for mounting the posters will be provided.
Letter of Invitation:  A formal letter of invitation will be provided upon request.

Registration: Deadline for early registration is 1st March 2010. For registration fees and method of payment, please contact  the Congress Secretariat  (except for the invited speakers).

Accommodation: There are four alternatives for accommodation. Price and reservations can be through Congress Secretariat (details are below). Invited speakers will be accommodated either at the Yeditepe Student Hotel or Green Park Bostancı Hotel.

Transportation: There are two international airports in Istanbul. Ataturk Airport is located in the European side of Istanbul and about 50 km away from the Yeditepe University. Sabiha Gokcen Airport is located in the Asian side of Istanbul and about 25 km to the campus. Transfer from the airport  will be arranged for the invited speakers on arrival and departure.
